5 Best Things To Do For Baby’s Stomach Issues

Posted on November 24, 2022December 16, 2022 by Dr. Humaira Sikander

We all know, our little ones have so many tummy problems. When your child’s stomach hurts, you want to look for a quick treatment. Since they are unable to explain why it hurts, it can be not easy to know just how to treat it.

Baby’s Stomach Issues are normal. Fortunately, they normally result from nothing serious. However, they can be uncomfortable, so it’s a wise idea to have some pain-relieving techniques on hand. We would like to offer advice on how to keep your infant healthy.

So, here are 5 things we will discuss to treat your baby’s stomach issues, however, first, we discuss symptoms that help you know your baby has some tummy problem.

Table of Contents

  • Symptoms of your Baby’s Stomach Issues:
  • 1. Prefer Breastmilk or Get a Good Formula
  • 2. Practice Baby’s Tummy Massage
  • 3. Try Baby’s Legs Exercises
  • 4. Avoid Overfeeding
  • 5. Burping your Baby

Symptoms of your Baby’s Stomach Issues:

If your babies exhibit any of these symptoms, then they might have stomach pain:

  • Do not sleep properly
  • Do not eat
  • Cries more often than normal
  • Have diarrhea or vomiting
  • Have constipation
  • Make expressions of their face that show pain

There are a variety of problems that could give your kid an upset stomach, just like there are for adults. There are some best tips to soothe your baby’s stomach issues, though there should be a trip to the doctor for severe conditions.

1. Prefer Breastmilk or Get a Good Formula

The best feed for your infant is breast milk, so you must prefer breast milk to lessen the baby’s stomach issues. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) both advise nursing exclusively for the first six months of life. Infants who are breastfed experience less digestive discomfort than infants who are fed formula. Breastfed newborns experience less diarrhea and constipation because breast milk is typically easier to digest.

However, if your baby is formula-fed for any reason, you should choose a formula that is simple to digest to make sure it won’t irritate their stomach. Try a formula that has the milk proteins partially broken down already; this may help newborns with gassy tummies and make the formula easier to digest for some kids, advises Amy Lynn Stockhausen, M.D., an associate professor of general pediatrics.

2. Practice Baby’s Tummy Massage

Your baby’s stomach issues can be relieved with a gentle massage. Massaging an infant is a wonderful and natural technique to relieve stomach pain.

Digestion massage is very fruitful for baby’s general tummy problems like constipation, colic, extra air, etc. A cozy, peaceful environment is required for the massage. You can use some oil or cream for your baby’s sensitive skin. By removing extra air from the body, this comforting motion also releases pressure on the infant. You can try this massage when your baby gets six months old.

3. Try Baby’s Legs Exercises

Move your baby’s legs gently back and forth to simulate riding a bicycle. This activity can release excess gas and promote digestive motility. You can also gently pull her knees up to her stomach while your baby is bending his/her legs.

4. Avoid Overfeeding

Give modest amounts at a time because your baby’s stomach is the size of a fist, advises Dr. Montague. A baby who is overfed frequently has discomfort because they are unable to properly digest all of the breast milk or formula. A baby that is overfed may also swallow air, which can result in gas production, increased abdominal discomfort, and crying. A baby who has been overfed may also vomit up more frequently than usual and have loose feces.

5. Burping your Baby

Burping is a crucial aspect of feeding a baby. Baby’s natural tendency to swallow air when eating might be somewhat relieved by burping. When to burp your baby is completely up to you. Some infants require burping during feeding, while others require it after.

Your infant can alleviate part of that gas by burping, which helps to lessen the discomfort. Additionally, it lessens spitting up.

I’m impressed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s both educative and entertaining,
and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head.
The problem is something not enough people are speaking intelligently about.
Now i’m very happy that I found this in my search for something relating
    to this.
